“Much has happened in the world since I first took the Mutual Admiration Society band into the studio ten years ago, much of it very bad: the dot-com bust, September 11, two wars that remain unfinished, and currently a world financial crisis whose outcome is far from clear. If, as Art Blakey said, “Music washes away the dust of every day life,” we have certainly been in need of some heavy-duty music. [...]

I don’t know exactly why it took me all this time to get the band back together in the studio, but all’s well that ends well: MAS 2 begins and ends well, with more superb writing, arranging, soloing and group feel that made the original one of the most admired CDs in the Sharp Nine catalog.”
