The first of two exclusive videos we commissioned at this gig is now available to view online. Watch live performance of "The Rosario Material" featuring Joe Locke (vibes), Jay Anderson (bass), Joe La Barbera (drums) and Jonathan Kreisberg (guitar). The song is also available on the Joe Locke Quartet's recent release "Sticks and Strings", which can be purchased in Joe's music shop. [back to top] Second Golden Ear Award for Joe Locke Congratulations to Joe who has just won his second Golden Ear Award. He received the 2007 North West Concert of the Year nod for his performance at Port Townsend Jazz Festival last July. Joe was already honoured by the Seattle based Ear Shot Jazz Society in the same category for the Joe Locke / Geoffrey Keezer Group concert at the Ballard Jazz Festival. The gig eventually made it onto disc - thanks to ORIGIN Records - and became the very successful and critically acclaimed album "Live in Seattle". Further, congratulations must also go to Thomas Marriott for winning two awards, including Best Northwest Jazz Recording for his album "Both Sides of the Fence", which features Joe on two tracks. [back to top] On Disc Trio Da Paz and Joe Locke "Live at Jazz Baltica" MaxJazz are going to release a celebrated concert performance that had audiences on their feet, the German Jazz critics raving (Jazzthetik's "Concerts of the Year") and the four musicians at their soul inspiring best. Romero Lubambo, Nilson Matta, Duduka Da Fonseca and Joe Locke were the closing act of last year's JazzBaltica Festival in Salzau, northern Germany, creating the prefect climax of the 2007 event. "Live at JazzBaltica" with Trio Da Paz is going to be Joe's first headlining recording for MaxJazz. The CD will be out in the shops in March. Joe Locke's selected guest appearances discography » [back to top] David Finck's "Future Day" Last year Joe was happy to accept an invitation by bassist David Finck to support him on his new album which is now being released on Sound Brush Records. The CD, entitled "Future Day", also features Joe La Barbera on drums and pianist Tom Ranier, plus special guests Jeremy Pelt (trumpet) and Bob Sheppard (tenor saxophone). "Future Day" will be on general release from February 12, 2008, and to celebrate the event, the band will get together for a special performance at the Jazz Standard on March 31.
