AAJ review: Van Gogh by Numbers
If jazz is a marginalized genre and the vibraphone is a marginalized instrument

will come as no surprise to listeners familiar with Joe Locke...Read the article » March 03, 2006

Ballard Jazz Festival Review (Jazz Police)
Locke is a joy to watch as well as to hear. An extremely animated performer,
he’s in constant motion. His lean form dressed in faded jeans, a crisp white
shirt open at the collar and a black sport coat, his wavy silver hair slicked
back, constantly mouthing/scatting along with his serpentine lines, he appeared
to be playing the instrument and the music with his whole body, mind and soul:
nothing was held back.

Joe Locke Interview in AAJ: Are you ready for him?
"I think that what musicians like more than anything else is to play meaningful
music that communicates something that resonates with the listener and I think
that takes rehearsing and developing, taking the time to let what you want to
communicate unfold and you need time for that to gestate and be able to talk
about it before you present it to an audience. That’s definitely what it’s like
with me and my colleagues." Read full interview » click here for Joe Locke press cuttings » If you require further information or details regarding particular projects, please contact us on .
