in November 2005 Joe Locke joined Holland based Vibraphone manufacturer and designer vanderPlas Percussion to endorse their instruments and support the development of the forthcoming Joe Locke Signature Vibraphone.

After years of building vibraphones, marimbas and xylophones for a hobby,
it became clear that it was time to shake up the vibraphone world and come up
with the new firm and designing the vibraphone that is now becoming the
standard of the new generation of vibes: the LWseries.

In the short time of existence, vanderPlas percussion has, besides the regular
models, build several odd models like:

• the weird folding Lackerschmid model
• the beauty "Tribute to Schluter"
• the 6+6 Pertchik model

In 2003 one of the largest Dutch music firms Music All In became co-owner of vanderPlas Percussion which made it possible to design and manufacture the popular eVibe. A great gigging instrument with embedded electronics, and manufactured with the newest composite material to keep it as lightweight as possible.
